Festival Edinburgh, Scotland, August 04-31, 1997
Edinburgh, the captical city of Scotland, has conducted the international Arts
festival since 1946. Over the past 51 years, a million visitors have come to Edinburgh
to celebrate the festival with the locals. Many different countries bring in different
arts to the city and exchange ideas and culture. The month of August is the busiest
month in the year in Edinburgh. There were 250,000 people to watch the fireworks on
the last Thursday in August, this year. The President of NYJPW, Cheng-Hua Wang, plans to contact
Edinburgh International Festival Committee to proceed with the application for Chinese
Opera Presentation. It will be the first Chinese Opera Presentation in Edinburgh.
