I called back to Tara and spoke to her about some interests of Madame Chiang's, her personal hobbies and her contribution to china briefly as follows:

"Every girl in China and Taiwan admires Madame Chiang. She has established an Orphan Place called Hwa Hsing in China in the World War Two time frame to raise all the children whose parents died for the country. After the civil war, Hwa Hsing Orphan Place has moved to Taiwan and continue raising orphan children who were born in Taiwan. Step by step, Madame Chiang has built Hwa Hsing Elementary school, Hwa Hsing Middle school, etc. Thousands of orphans have grown up and became good professional people and moved all over the world to contribute their expertise as proud Chinese. They all called Madame Chiang as Big Mother Chiang. The celebration of Madame Chiang's 100th birthday Chinese Opera performance at Alice Tully Hall, Lincoln Center on March 27, 1999, was produced by Armmy Force Orphan Organization in North American. I was helping to organize this function and participated the opera performance "Liu Bei Across the River" as Juge Liang.

Besides Chinese Opera, Madame Chiang also liked to raise Orchids and drew Chinese landscape painting. She learned this art from one of the most famous Chinese Landscape Painter Master Huang Jun Bi. The Chinese newspaper World Journal has sponsored an exhibition for Madame Chiang Kai-shek and Dr. Lifu Chen on January 7th, 2000. NYJPW has captured some photos from the exhibition and listed as an NYJPW event."
