A Different Cultural View of Kenya - Article & Photo by Gretchen Marble

Kenya is located in the middle of the eastern shore of Africa on the Indian Ocean. These pictures were taken in October of 2002 on a safari that included the Aberdare National Park, Lake Nakuru and the Masai Mara. Except for 2 pictures of the giraffes in captivity, all the other pictures were taken from a van with pop-up roof top that allowed a 360 view of the land and animals. At no time are you allowed out of the vehicles when driving around the game reserves. Humans are the visitors and the animals are not to be disturbed or threatened in their natural habitat. The Kenyan people are friendly and eager to show off their country. If you use a reputable tour group a Kenyan vacation is an exciting way to see animals in their natural habitat, experience another culture, indulge your sense of adventure and have a wonderful experience.
