NYJPW has proudly presented its first Gold Star Award Price to three most outstanding contribution of Arts & Culture in the performing arts of Chinese Opera: New Ma Style Master Ma Cheung Lai, Tan Style Tan Xiao Zeng and Zhang Style Xu Ya Ping. The award ceremony has been held at NYJPW Oradell Arts & Cultural Center, New Jersey on Tuesday, at 2 PM, October 7, 2003. Many Chinese Opera famous artists and lovers have invited to attend the presentation. NYJPW founder, John Wang has giving an opening remark to congratulate Master Ma, Tan and Xue for their outstanding contribution to Chinese Opera. John Wang is also thank the three masters have helped NYJPW 2003 Chinese Opera presentation "The Orphan of Zhao". This production has recent successfully completed at Alice Tully Hall, Lincoln Center on September 19, 2003, which directed by Zhang Shu, who is one of the best pupils of Master Ma Cheung Lai. This opera production has won thousand applause from appreciative audience and was rewarded as "NYJPW "The Orphan of Zhao" is the most memorable Chinese Opera performance in the recent history with its unique team spirit and the extraordinary effort of every actor in this production." After the award ceremony, every one has rehearsed their voice and sing their favored opera with musician Wu Liang and director Zhang Shu at NYJPW center quite happily. Reception for Chinese buffet lunch and drinks has been served. This is just a beginning. NYJPW president, Penny Cheng-Hua Wang encouraged all the audience at the celebration party with their help and devotion to promote this traditional arts in the United States. Chinese newspaper World Journal news reporter, Liu Mei Lin, came to join the celebration and wrote a special article to congratulate NYJPW and three Masters for their contribution of Chinese arts to shine Chinese traditional culture in the American society.
