The founder and president of NYJPW, Cheng-Hua Wang, is a type of person who has a loving and giving heart to do anything that could help to promote Chinese Arts and Culture to the society. Her husband, John Wang, is a world famous commercial photographer in New York, who provides the full support to her plan of actions. Cheng-Hua and John has founded NYJPW Chinese American Arts & Culture Association in 1997. Their dedication in promoting Chinese traditional artistic arts to the community has been highly recognized and recommended. Their invention of www.nyjpw.org is the first Chinese American web site in the US to report the activities of artistic work has helped many talented artists to obtain their permanent status and live happily and working diligently in the US.

With Cheng-Hua & John's accomplishment, NYJPW has been an active participant in the arts and culture events in New York, New Jersey, Washington D.C., California, Edinburgh, China and been highly recognized by the arts society as one of the most outstanding groups. NYJPW has recruited more than 100th members over the past years and assists professionals and young artists to exhibit their artistic talent. NYJPW web site receives and processes 50 inquires a day. NYJPW has provided free services to the world, and recorded activities in NYJPW repository. Many organizations, Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, CBS 60 Minutes, National Weather Research Center, National Maritime Historical Society, Motion Picture Association's Chinese Film Festival, 73rd Oscar Academy Award Chinese Opera dancing performance, Lennon Documentary Group/PBS Channel 13 for Chinese Immigrants, Gotham TV for Metro Cable, Always Entertaining, college/high school students from the U.S., U.K., Italy, Span, Japan, many art gallery and musical company from Hong Kong, Taiwan and Singapore, and art enthusiasts have contacted NYJPW through its web site. The growth of NYJPW is very encouraging and the continuing devotion and public support will insure future success.

NYJPW has set up Arts & Cultural Gallery in Oradell, New Jersey, this summer. A few events have been conducted in the Gallery and many to come. With the effort of Art Gallery, more talented artistic work will be illustrated and presented to entertain the public community. Cheng-Hua & John Wang are such a loving people and with giving heart to their work. Anyone who is touring NYJPW site, it is the presentation of John Wang's photography and Cheng-Hua's web pages. It is a alive repository. In next mile stone, John & Cheng-Hua want to add more activities to various categories that they have not been well develop for the past 6 years, i.e. acupuncture, agriculture, antique, architecture, chess, chorus, cooking, exercises, flower arrangement, kung fu, magic, massage, movie, tea ceremony, puppet show, records, spoken language, sports, talk show, etc. They have set up a full yearly schedule for the upcoming 2004 and to be focus on the above subjects.

NYJPW has conducted a historical production in the United States: "The Orphan of Zhao" at Alice Tully Hall, Lincoln Center, New York, September 19, 2003. Gathering more then 90 members of professional and amateur artists from the world and the successful performance has brought a great memory to all the audience's lifetime memory. Cheng-Hua Wang has invited Master Ma Cheung Lai and Mr. Tan Xiao Zeng from Beijing to receive the lifetime achievement and most outstanding Asian artist awards before the performance. This award ceremony is host by Chinese American Arts Council and Lincoln Center for Performing Arts. The Commissioner of Department of Cultural Affairs of New York City, Kate Levin has presented the awards to Master Ma Cheung Lai, Tan Xiao Zeng and Cheng-Hua Wang. This is a great honor which equivalent of Oscar Academy Award in Chinese. Cheng-Hua will lead NYJPW artists continuously devote her expertise to entertain the American society.

NYJPW has published a few pages to introduce the President of NYJPW, Cheng-Hua Wang, with her achievement from her family, professional work, amateur opera singing and performances, and the articles that she wrote for alumni magazines as follows.


In the time of recovering from the ovarian cancer, Penny Wang has taken some time to convert all NYJPW production of Chinese Opera and presentation programs in the past nine years from VHS fomate to DVD. This is the valuable documentary of NYJPW's accomplishment in helping to promote the artists and contributed the entertainment to the society.
