NYJPW is honored to be invited to present a creative Chinese Fashion Show with Chinese Opera's spectacular costumes, beautiful lady's make up, acrobatical wu kung, high skilled sword dance, and the most excited changing faces with Chinese Opera music and stories. This Chinese Opera Fashion Show is combined Chinese Opera and Chinese traditional dresses with music, dance, action and comedy was created by NYJPW John & Cheng-Hua Wang and group together with three extraordinary artists: Li Shu Yuan and Zhou Ji, mother and son, and nephew Li Xin. Ms. Li is well known as "Modern Mei Lan Fang".Ms. Li has been taught many Chinese Opera amateur perfomers in Philadelphia, Pensavenia, to sing and dance in Chinese Opera programs which they have produced and presented in many places in Pensavenia. This 50 minutes program presents 5 parts:(1) Chinese Opera Kao wu kung dance "Iron Mountain" by Li Xin. (2) Chinese opera Ribbon dance "Tien Nu Spread Flowers" by Li Shu Yuan. (3) Chinese Opera Changing Faces by Zhou Ji. This performance is based on Si Chuan Opera Changing Faces and accompany with Chinese Opera's music. Mr. Zhou will change 8 different kind of typical faces in Chinese Opera in a very short time. (4) Chinese Opera Monkey King "Stealing Longevity Peaches" by Li Xin. Famous Mokey King showing his funny actions. (5) Chinese Opera Sword dance "Farewell My Concubine" by Li Shu Yuan. This is the most famous Opera invented by Master Mei Lan Fang and inherited by Ms. Li Shu Yuan. The presentation is to celebrate the annual Arts Festival at Plainsboro Public Library. It is at the court room of Plainsboro Public Library and admission is free for public. The date is Saturday, September 17, 2005, at 1 PM.
