NYJPW John & Cheng-Hua Wang's Dedication of Promotion in Chinese Opera

Famous Writer Monica Ai Jen Liu has interviewed NYJPW John & Penny Cheng-Hua Wang to gather the information for their effort in many years of promotting in Chinese Opera. Cheng-Hua loves Chinese Opera since she was a little girl. Cheng-Hua Wang was an amature Chinese opera artist and performed at college in Taiwan that brought her good luck with graduate assistantship to come to St. John's University Asian Studies for her Master of History degree.

After Cheng-Hua Wang received her Master degree in Asian History from St. John's university, based upon the work requirement and her own destiny of a prosperity future, Cheng-Hua continued her advanced studies in public accountancy and computer science. Cheng-Hua had changed a few jobs and finally she found herself comfortably working in computer programming in a major Bank of New York. Cheng-Hua worked very hard throughout the years and finally was promoted as Vice President and managed the major system financial transformation group.

Cheng-Hua's beloved husband, John Wang, who is one of the most famous commercial photographers in New York advertises field. John takes good care of their family while Cheng-Hua has spent long hours working at her work. John also likes Chinese Opera as an audience. When Cheng-Hua Wang had accomplished her goal in the business arena, Cheng-Hua started to spend some time to sing Chinese opera. With John's help, Cheng-Hua established the first website in the America to promote Chinese & American arts and culture: www.nyjpw.org in 1997. They also started a not for profit organization:
NYJPW Chinese American Arts & Culture Association, Inc. in New York. With their loving heart and helping mind, John & Cheng-Hua have helped hundreds professional artists to join the productions that they have conducted in the United States and China. John & Cheng-Hua have helped more then 50 artists to obtain their permanent residency in the United States. Three most outstanding artists: Bei Ge, Li Dan Hong and Zhang Guo Hui, were performed at 73rd Oscar Academy Award in Los Angeles, March 25, 2001. The most recent production "The Orphan of Zhao" had invited more than 100 artists to perform at Alice Tully Hall, Lincoln Center in September 19, 2003. Cheng-Hua had received The Most Outstanding Asian Artist Social Arts Service Award from Department of Culture Affairs of New York City. This is the very high line of honor that one artist can reach, especially for an amature artist like Cheng-Hua.

John & Cheng-Hua Wang have devoted themselves to the public affairs, especially in promoting the Chinese Opera. They have donated their money and put into the big effort to support Chinese American Arts & Culture in the United States society and benefit to the community. John & Cheng-Hua Wang have renovated a new NYJPW Arts & Culture Center at College Point and will be grand opening in fall this year. John & Cheng-Hua plan to promote more arts and cultural events at the local community in Queens area. Stay tuned.
